About the Role

International Consultancy providing multidisciplinary customized engineering services for transport, underground, water infrastructures and renewable energy for both the private and public sectors worldwide.

Job Description

• Provide Develops and implements environmental strategies, policies, practices and action plans to ensure corporate sustainable development. Identify potential environmental risks and recommend appropriate risk management strategies and interventions to minimize environmental risk and strengthen environmental management.

• Develop, implement and maintain an effective HSEQ Management System(s) commensurate with ISO standards and aligned with attaining accreditations (ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001). Creating sub-plans and coordinating with specialist consultants as needed, including obtaining necessary environmental permits and licenses.

• Monitoring compliance with approval conditions and conducting regular environmental audits and inspections. Liaising with client environmental representatives and key stakeholders to address environmental concerns.

• Reviewing environmental approvals during the pre-contract phase to ensure all regulatory requirements are met. Monitoring and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and implementing new protective and preventative measures as required and according to law.

 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or environmental management (required).

• Postgraduate degree in environmental science or environmental management (highly desired).

• Proven experience in developing, supporting, and implementing Environmental Management Plans and Risk Assessments (required).

• Experience working in the infrastructure sector with a specific focus on hydropower and pumped hydro energy storage projects (highly desired). Practical experience with ISO 45001/14001/9001 standards (required).

• Demonstrated understanding and experience working with sustainability standards, particularly the Hydropower Sustainability Standard (highly desired). Trained in auditing of HSEQ Management Systems (highly desired).

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to sustainability. • collaboration and the ability to clearly convey protocols and procedures across all levels of the organization.
